Where to fish in Mallorca

Basically, in waters of the Balearic Islands you can fish around the entire coastline, and in open waters, always respecting the port facilities.
Broadly speaking, it can be said that in the Balearic Islands you can fish all along the coast and in open waters. Always respecting the port facilities, bathe areas, if we intend to fish within coves or beaches and having knowledge of the restrictions of marine reserves.
Spearfishing can only be done by lung, signalling our position with a buoy, this type of fishing can only be done during the hours of sun, is strictly prohibited, underwater fishing at night, and penalties in this case, will be very heavy.
Around our coasts, you can fish every day of the week, but if what you want is to fish within any of the marine reserves that are established, we will have to inform of the days that this activity is allowed, in addition, we will have to inform ourselves of all the restrictions that are imposed on each reservation, since they will be greater than outside the reserve, especially in relation to minimum sizes of fish, types of gear and hooks that can be used, as well as having very clear of the geographic coordinates of the reserve.
The marine reserves that are around our coasts, and of which we must have knowledge if we intend to fish within them are:
- Reserva Marina de la Badía de Palma
- Reserva Marina de Llevant de Mallorca
- Reserva Marina del Migjorn de Mallorca
- Reserva Marina of the island of Toro and the Malgrats Islands
